Usually attached to the D rings that hold the latigo of the cinch. May also have a leather strap that goes betwen the horse's front legs and attaches to the cinch.

Can be very decorative such as when used in full parade dress or just functional.

When fitting your breast collar, attention should be paid to the shoulders, chest, and the area between the front legs of your horse. You do not want to restrict movement in the front or cause irritation. In general you should be able to fit your fist between the breastplate and the horse's chest and a hand's width between the wither strap and the withers. Be sure the buckles don' t rub and that the chest straps lie ABOVE the point of the shoulder so you don't restrict the motion.

Mohair is made from the hair of the Angora goat. It is one of the oldest fibers: natural, durable, resilient. It takes dye exceptionally well. It wicks moisture away from the skin and into the fibers of the cinch. It is also resistant to stretch, which makes it an ideal fiber for horse equipment.
