Lets you put bacteria right where you want it and it stays there.
Microbe-lift Gel Filter Cartridge Inoculant
Lets you put bacteria right where you want it and it stays there.
Gel Filter Cartridge Inoculant will quickly attach to and populate all brands of filter cartridges and all styles of media including foam, floss, bio-balls, ceramic media, etc This will help rapidly establish the necessary biological activity in the filter to stabilize your aquarium's environment quickly. It will also help to restore your filter when you clean or change the media and replace your filter cartridge.

Applies easily to filter cartridge pads/media without running or getting messy.Contains naturally-occurring bio-polymers that help the organisms quickly attach to media allowing for 80% reduction in filter start-up time.

Use to inoculate your filter cartridges each time you remove or clean them to keep your bacteria bed fresh and active. Eliminates transient instability that can occur when filter media is cleaned or replaced

Use when starting a new tank. Helps to stabilize aquarium environment quickly upon start-up.

The Science of Aquarium Cleaning

One of the most frequent mistakes made by novice aquarists is the "over-cleaning" of the tank. While most don't do their cleaning and water changes frequently enough, they make up for it by practically stripping the tank when they DO clean it.

When cartridges are cleaned or removed for replacement, bacteria living in the cartridge is damaged or discarded. This leaves the tank vulnerable to dangerous ammonia spikes. See: Understanding Aquarium Filtration

Bio-Pin Balls are a state of the art filter media for use in fresh and salt water wet/dry systems.
Lee's Bio-pin Balls
Bio-Pin Balls are a state of the art filter media for use in fresh and salt water wet/dry systems.
Biological filtration is the process by which waste is broken down from toxic ammonia to less toxic nitrates.Bio-Pin Balls provide surface area for the growth of nitrifying bacteria for tank filtration and help produce turbulence, aiding in the gas-exchange process. They may be connected together or randomly placed in the filter box. The void space between the Bio-Pins is ideal for the movement of gasses like oxygen and allows it to more-readily come in contact with nitrifying bacteria living on the media surface.

The suggested usage is 1 gallon of Bio-Pin Balls per 20 gallons for salt water or 35 gallons freshwater.

SMALL - Each Bio-Pin Ball has 110 Bio-Pins (drip points). There are 120 balls per gallon. One Cubic Foot of media has approximately 130 Square Feet of surface area.

LARGE - Each Bio-Pin Ball has 150 Bio-Pins (drip points). There are 74 balls per gallon. One Cu. Ft. of media has approximately 150 Sq. Ft. of surface area.

  • The suggested usage is 1 gallon of Bio-Pin Balls per 20 gallons for saltwater and per 35 gallons freshwater.

The revolutionary design forces water to pass through the filter media trays and not around them.
marineland Magnum "c" Series Canister Filters
The revolutionary design forces water to pass through the filter media trays and not around them.
Aquarium water is drawn into the canister and through a succession of three stacked media trays (each with its own specialized media) for full-contact filtration -- virtually no bypass. The water is then returned to your aquarium, sparkling-clean and fish-healthy.

It's a design that delivers the best available technology in mechanical, chemical and biological filtration… and it's a design that is unmatched for capturing particulates.

When it's time to service your C-Series canister filter, all you do is push a lever, turn the key, and lift out the easy-access media trays.

When it's time to start your filter again, just press the "Quick-Prime" button to fill the canister with water for easy priming.

Magnum "C" Series Canister Filter Features:
    • Easy-to-manage Stack-n-flow filter trays are easy to use and provide mechanical, chemical and biological filtration

Micron filter bag prefilters your sump.
    Eshopps Reef Sumps
Micron filter bag prefilters your sump.
Specifically designed for reef and saltwater systems. Professionally hand-crafted for precise fit and operation.

A reef sump has important benefits to any aquarium.By using the sump to hold extra water, the volume of water in the system is increased. Evaporation from the tank itself is mitigated by the reserve in the sump, preventing the annoying need to constantly add water to the tank.

Additionally, larger water volume in saltwater systems makes the system more stable. The chemistry and temperature change on a day to day basis in a large volume of water is less by percentage than the same change to a smaller volume of water.

The sump is the ideal place to house equipment such as heaters, filters, skimmers, thermometers or any other equipment that detracts from the aesthetics of the tank.

The sump is an excellent place to add new water, medicate, adjust chemical balances etc. By using the water in the sump, the effect of changes to the chemistry is less dramatic on the delicate inhabitants of the tank (having been diluted by the sump water before it is introduced into the main tank)

Sizing: The size of your sump is generally dictated by the space into which you will fit it. If you are going to invest in a sump, make is as big as your can area can handle without inhibiting our ability to get equipment in and out of it without dismantling it - the bigger the better. What is the difference between a sump and a wet/dry filter? A wet/dry filter is actually just a sump with a chamber for bio-media (often bio balls) built into it.

      Eshopps Reef Sumps Include:
    • Micron Filter Bag
    • Sponge
    • Cover
    • 3 ft x 1¼" Drain Hose
    • 1¼" Bulkhead (bulkhead fittings are superior to PVC fittings)

    Two-in-one combination refugium and sump
Eshopps Advance Series Refugiuims/skimmer Combination Systems
    Two-in-one combination refugium and sump
Sizes to fit 75 gal to 225 gal tanks.

A refugium is a miniature ecosystem attached to your main tank often housing isolated polulations of sensitive animals or plants. Much like a greenhouse on a space ship, a refugium will improve the quality of your saltwater system by addedg extra filtration, bionutrients and other food sources as well as giving refuge to sensitive species.

Refugiums can be used to keep the peace in your salt water tank: used as a refuge chamber for the more delicate species such as sea horses and peppermint shrimp (to name just two) who would otherwise become a food source for the other inhabitants of the tank. It can also provide a place to raise fry in a tank that shares the water with their birth tank

Refugiums can be used to supply live food and planktons to your aquarium. They are well suited to cultivate food sources such as algae and micro-fauna separate from the predation by herbivorous inhabitants of the main tank. Cultivating Caulerpa and other macroalgaes can help to consume ammonia/nitrates and phosphates that accumulate unhealthfully in your tank.

Refugiuims can help maintain pH levels.

It can be used for something as simple as just increasing your water volume.

      Advanced Series Refugiums Include:
    • Bio Balls
    • Tray

Kent Marine® Rx•P™ is a break through in controlling parasites in saltwater tanks.
    Kent Marine Rx Parasite Treatment
Kent Marine® Rx•P™ is a break through in controlling parasites in saltwater tanks.

Unique triple acting formula treats saltwater ich and other parasites and treats multiple stages. Can be used with most invertebrates with caution.

Works better than copper, yet leaves no residual metals or toxic byproducts.

      Features:
    • A triple acting treatment for saltwater ich and other parasites
    • Thin consistency
    • Highly effective, works better than copper, yet leaves no residual toxic metals after treatment!
    • Contains only natural ingredients
    • Can be used with most invertebrates (with caution), if you have strong biological filtration, such as a sufficiently sized wet dry filter, and a properly adjusted protein skimmer (the hobbyist much take care since marine parasites are invertebrates RxP™ will stress other invertebrates read all directions below!)
    • Contains no copper or carcinogenic dyes
    • Can be used with Sharks, Rays and scaleless fish
    • Does not cause lateral line disease, like metal based treatments do!
    • An 8 oz. bottle will treat a 50 gallon tank for one full treatment (13 days)

Considerations for use: Notice: Use of RxP without a strong biological filter or without strong protein skimming will endanger invertebrates of all types and can even endanger fish! , (preferred biological method is a bio-ball type wet dry filter. (Weak methods include undergravel, Jaubert, and Berlin methods, the hobbyist is cautioned that these methods may not be strong enough to prevent difficulties). Protein skimmer must be adjusted daily for good foam production! High ammonia or nitrite levels and resulting stress may be experienced with weak biological methods. Product is necessarily strong because marine parasites are hardy, and caution by the user is absolutely required! Do not dose your tank and leave. You must observe the animals periodically during the day.

All Systems: RxP™ is not recommended for lionfish, stonefish or scorpion fish. Treated fish must be in a reasonably healthy condition for treatment to be effective and for recovery to occur.

Reefs: Product can be used with most invertebrates by experienced persons, with caution. Since marine parasites are invertebrates, treating them with this product will stress other invertebrates. Use with invertebrates carries a certain amount of risk. Animals most likely to have adverse reactions to the product are stony corals and colonial anemones (mushrooms), See label for details. Do not ever use with starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, sea apples, medusa worms, nudibranches or similar animals

Prolonged use, indiscriminate use, use on weakened inverts or use without proper skimming or strong biological filtration can cause damage or loss. For this reason, use with inverts is at the risk of the user.

Directions: Important: Adjust skimmer daily for good foam production! Remove carbon. Raise alkalinity to 8 dKH or higher with Superbuffer-dKH™. Shake well just prior to each use! Use at the rate of 2 teaspoons (10 ml or 2 capfuls from 8 or 16 oz. container) per 25 gallons (95 liters) of tank capacity every other day. Continue treatment for seven doses (13 days) minimum. See below for precautions. For maximum results, on off days, treat with Poly•Ox™, as directed. Use Kent Reef Carbon™ after completing treatment to remove product and perform a major water change (>20%). As a preventative measure, treat the system for 3 treatments when adding new fish. Important: In reefs, also use Coral-Vite™ and Tech•I™ together with a calcium supplement to strengthen corals! As a dip: Use one capful per gallon of saltwater. Leave fish for 15 minutes or less. Observe and remove fish if rapid breathing or other signs of stress occur.
