Removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all others by over 500%
Seachem Purigen Impurity Absorbent
Purigen™ is a premium synthetic adsorbent that is unlike any other filtration product. It is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all others by over 500%.

Purigen™ controls ammonia, nitrites and nitrates by removing nitrogenous organic waste that would otherwise release these harmful compounds.

Purigen’s™ impact on trace elements is minimal. It significantly raises redox. It polishes water to unparalleled clarity.

Purigen™ darkens progressively as it exhausts, and is easily renewed by treating with bleach. Purigen™ is designed for both marine and freshwater use.

DIRECTIONS: Rinse before use. Use in a fine mesh filter bag. Each 1 L treats up to 4,000 L (1,000 gallons*) for up to six months. Exhaustion is indicated by a pronounced discoloration of the beads to dark brown or black.

Regeneration: Purigen will turn from its normal color to a deep brown when it is exhausted. Purigen can easily be regenerated by soaking it in a solution of hyperchlorite (generic) bleach overnight. The Purigen™will return to its original color. Then rinse well and dechlorinate using Prime™or Safe™to remove any chlorine. For freshwater, use a buffer to adjust the pH as needed due to bleach’s high pH.

This product is sold by volume. Cited weight is minimal weight.

Avoid "New Tank Syndrome". Stability™ contains a synergistic blend of aerobic, anaerobic, and facultative bacteria which facilitate tank cycling.
Seachem Stability Bio Tank Stabilization System
Stability™ will rapidly and safely establish the aquarium biofilter in freshwater and marine systems, thereby preventing the #1 cause of fish death: "new tank syndrome". Stability™ is formulated specifically for the aquarium and contains a synergistic blend of aerobic, anaerobic, and facultative bacteria which facilitate the breakdown of waste organics, ammonia, and nitrate.

Unlike competing products, the bacteria employed by Stability™ are non-sulfur fixing and will not produce toxic hydrogen sulfide. Stability™ is completely harmless to all aquatic organisms as well as aquatic plants, thus there is no danger of over use. Stability™ is the culmination of nearly a decade of research and development and represents the current state of the art in natural biological management.

DIRECTIONS: Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 40 L (10 gallons*) on the first day with a new aquarium. Then use 1 capful for each 80 L (20 gallons*) daily for 7 days. Fish and other aquatic species may be introduced at any time as long as dosage is maintained for 7 days. For optimum biofilter performance use 1 capful for each 40 L (10 gallons*) once a month or with each water change and whenever introducing new fish or whenever medicating an aquarium.

Designed to restore & maintain calcium to levels found in natural seawater
Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium
Calcium & carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health.

Reef Advantage Calcium is a non-caustic (ph 8.3-8.6) optimized blend of ionic calcium. It also includes magnesium & strontium in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios (100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg:Sr).This allows one to maintain these two important elements while maintaining calcium. Unlike limewater (kalkwasser), it does not have a caustic ph & will not deplete magnesium. Used as directed, it will not deplete alkalinity.

To prevent coral problems, you must provide calcium (Reef Advantage Calcium™) and carbonates (Reef Builder™ or Reef Carbonate™).

    DIRECTIONS:
  • BEGINNER: Use 1 level teaspoon per 150 L (40 gallons*) twice a week. Dissolve in at least one cup of freshwater. Check calcium every 2 weeks and adjust dose or frequency accordingly.
  • ADVANCED: Check calcium level, then follow dosing regimen above until calcium is adjusted to 380–420 mg/L. Each dose will raise calcium by about 12 mg/L. Size or frequency of dose can be adjusted, but do not exceed 25 mg/L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain calcium.
  • EXPERT: After determining the calcium consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: t=0.002vc (t=teaspoons to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons, c=amount to raise calcium in mg/L). For example, if you want to raise calcium by 25 mg/L in a 50 gallon* tank, then you would add 0.002x50x25=2.5 teaspoons into the top-off water.
  • HINTS: If used with Reef Calcium™, it is not necessary to exceed 380 mg/L total calcium.

Use Reef Status™: Calcium to measure calcium.

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess calcium may enhance the loss of carbonate alkalinity. Do not directly mix with any carbonate supplement. Best if calcium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.

Calcium and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. To prevent this you must provide calcium (Reef Complete™) and carbonates (Reef Builder™ or Reef Carbonate™). Reef Complete™ also includes magnesium and strontium in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios (100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg:Sr). This allows one to maintain these two important elements while maintaining calcium.
    DIRECTIONS:
  • BEGINNER: Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 gallons*) twice a week. Check calcium every 2 weeks and adjust amount or frequency accordingly.
  • ADVANCED: Check calcium level, then follow dosing regimen above until calcium is adjusted to 380–420 mg/L. Each capful will raise calcium by about 10 mg/L. Size or frequency of amount added can be adjusted, but do not exceed 25 mg/L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain calcium.
  • EXPERT: After determining the calcium consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: m=0.025vc (m=mL of product to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons*, c=amount to raise calcium in mg/L). For example, if you want to raise calcium by 20 mg/L in a 50 gallon* tank, then you would add 0.025x50x20=25 mL into the top-off water.
  • HINTS: If used with Reef Calcium™, it is not necessary to exceed 380 mg/L total calcium. Calcium over 400 mg/L is not recommended. Use Reef Status™: Calcium test kit to measure calcium.

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess calcium may enhance the loss of carbonate alkalinity. Do not directly mix with any carbonate supplement. Best if calcium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.

Designed to adjust pH to 8.3 and maintain both pH and alkalinity (KH)
Seachem Marine Buffer
Marine Buffer™ will safely raise marine pH to 8.3. It will not raise pH above 8.3 even if inadvertently overdosed. Marine Buffer™ is a blended product and is not just sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate, commonly sold as a substitute. Such products can raise pH to dangerous levels if not used properly.Marine Buffer is formulated not to disrupt the natural ionic balance of marine water with prolonged use. Contains a natural balance of sodium, magnesium, calcium and potassium salts of carbonate, bicarbonate, and borate, formulated for enhanced and lasting buffer capacity at pH 8.3 without sacrificing calcium. It dissolves readily and does not obscure water clarity. Treats up to 4,000 gallons.

Instructions: Add 1 level tsp. for each 20 gallons. Dissolve in at least 1 cup of freshwater. This dose will also raise the alkalinity by about 1 meg/L. Add daily until pH stabalizes at 8.3. This can take from a day to a week, depending on original pH and alkalinity. Thereafter, use biweekly or monthly to maintain a pH of 8.3.

DO NOT DIRECTLY MIX WITH CALCIUM, MAGNESIUM OR STRONTIUM SUPPLEMENT.

Use Seachem’s MultiTest: Marine pH & Alkalinity™ to check pH and total alkalinity.

Intended to maintain calcium in the reef aquarium without altering pH (formulated at pH 8.2)
Seachem Reef Calcium
Reef Calcium is a concentrated (50,000 mg/L) bioavailable polygluconate complexed calcium.
    Polygluconate complexation confers several benefits:
  • It increases the bioavailability of the calcium.
  • It provides a rich source of metabolic energy to help maintain peak coral growth.
  • It inhibits calcium precipitation/alkalinity depletion.
  • One side benefit includes enhancement of denitrification.
Polygluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus it is biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system.

Reef Calcium may be used alone to maintain calcium but will provide enhanced levels of coral growth when used in conjunction with an ionic calcium supplement (Reef Complete, Reef Advantage Calcium, Reef Kalkwasser). Reef Calcium is intended to maintain calcium levels; if calcium becomes seriously depleted one should either perform a water change or use an ionic calcium supplement to restore the depleted level of calcium.

Each 100 mL treats up to 1,600 L (400 gallons).

Directions: Add 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 gallons) twice a week. You can increase the dose or frequency based on growth response but do not exceed 3 capfuls per 80 L (20 gallons) per day. Each dose will raise calcium by about 3 mg/L.

HINTS: Use the Reef Status™: Calcium test kit to measure calcium. It is not necesary to exceed 380 mg/L total calcium when using this product. Color and clarity may vary between lots.

Guaranteed Analysis: Calcium (Ca) MIN. 5.0% , MAX 5.2

Reef Builder ™ raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH
Seachem Reef Builder
Carbonates and calcium are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health.

Reef Builder ™ raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH. With long term use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Used as directed, Reef Builder™ will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity.

Reef Builder™ and Reef Buffer™ may be used together. Use Reef Builder™ to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH. Use Reef Buffer™ to raise carbonate alkalinity AND pH. 500 g treats 32,000 L (8,000 gallons).

    DIRECTIONS:
  • BEGINNER: Use half a level teaspoon per 150 L (40 gallons) twice a week. Dissolve in at least one cup of freshwater. Check alkalinity every 2 weeks and adjust dose or frequency accordingly.
  • ADVANCED: Check alkalinity, then follow dosing regimen above until alkalinity is adjusted to 4–5 meq/L. Each dose will raise alkalinity by about 0.25 meq/L. Size or frequency of dose can be adjusted, but do not exceed 1 meq/L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain alkalinity.
  • EXPERT: After determining the alkalinity consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: t=0.05va (t=teaspoons to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons, a=amount to raise alkalinity in meq/L). For example, if you want to raise your alkalinity by 1 meq/L in a 50 gallon tank, then you would add 0.05x50x1=2.5 teaspoons into the top-off water.
  • HINTS: Use MultiTest:™ Marine pH & Alkalinity to measure total alkalinity.

Concentrated (4,000 meq/L) optimized blend of carbonate and bicarbonate salts designed to restore and maintain alkalinity in the reef aquarium
Seachem Reef Carbonate
Calcium and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. To prevent this you must provide carbonates (Reef Carbonate™) and calcium (Reef Advantage Calcium™ or Reef Complete™).

Used as directed, Reef Carbonate™ will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef alkalinity should be maintained at 3–5 meq/L (8–14 dKH). Alkalinity should not be allowed to fall below 2 meq/L.

    DIRECTIONS:
  • BEGINNER: Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 gallons) twice a week. Best if diluted into a cup of freshwater, then added.
Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: m=va (m=mL of product to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons, a=amount to raise alkalinity in meq/L). For example, if you want to raise alkalinity by 1 meq/L in a 50 gallon tank, then you would add 50x1=50 mL into the top-off water.
  • HINTS: Best to pour in gradually near strong water movement. Do not add to a sump or other area of slow water exchange. Use MultiTest:™ Marine pH & Alkalinity to measure total alkalinity.

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess alkalinity may enhance the loss of calcium, magnesium, and strontium. Do not directly mix with any calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplement. Best if calcium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.
